Cast Your Votes, Turn in Your Mileage

Thank you to those club members who have cast their votes in this year’s TAB election. This is a reminder if you have yet to cast your votes for the recipients of the 2019 TAB awards, time is running out.

Election results will be announced at our annual meeting and banquet on February 16 at the Monclova Community Center. Just click on the link below and you will be taken to an online site where you can vote and list your 2019 outdoor mileage. It shouldn’t take you long, with no fuss of mailing.

You must vote and turn in your mileage by this Friday, January 17. The site will be turned off after that. If you have already voted, please do not vote again.

Another TAB kit order is on the horizon. More info will be provided as we get closer to it but the Champion design will mirror the previous Hincapie kits. Stay tuned!

Your 2020 officers are running unopposed so the portal is open to provide you the opportunity to select 2019 riders for the three annual club awards; Volunteer of the Year, Most Improved Rider, and the big one, the Hubert J Backes Rider of the Year. You can also submit your annual mileage there, if you are inclined to share.

Please visit the portal now and make your selections. Balloting will be open until Friday of next week.

Winter Warriors meet at Mountain Man Sports this Saturday at 9am for chili and a ride over to Ottawa Park. If the conditions allow, we will ride the Jermaine/Ottawa Park MTB trail. Our backup plan is to ride around Ottawa Park and then go out and back on the University Trail for a casual 22 miles.

Arrive early for the weekly prize drawing. Hope to see you there!

Currently DTE is closed and it appears unlikely to re-open in time for this week’s ride. Accordingly, we are changing the ride to GRAVEL ONLY and will be starting and finishing from the Chelsea Alehouse. Please see the updated parking and route links below.

If DTE opens in time for the ride, the option to ride or drive over will remain available. Thank you!

Departure at 9am from Chelsea Alehouse. As always, arrive a few minutes early to sign in and be eligible to win a fabulous prize!

Today is your last day to submit nominations for 2020 Club Officers and 2019 Season Awards. Members should have received an email with a link to the survey.

If you are an active member and have not received the email with the link, please contact me (rschieb@gmail.com) and we'll get it over to you.

With DTE being closed this weekend, we've decided to ride the Wabash instead. DTE will be postponed to a later date.

The Prelude to Suffering - come experience a taste of what you can expect during the Longest Day!

This is a 28-mile out-and-back on a (mostly unpaved) section of the Wabash Cannonball North Fork, with brunch at the 1/2way point.

Mountain and fat bikes fare best here, but feel free to ride whatever bike suits your fancy.

As always, show up early to sign in and register for the prize drawing.

We have gotten in some nominations for our annual awards, but we need more. We especially need members willing to serve as officers. No one has stepped forward yet to fill an open officer position. This summer, most of you rode with a lot of TAB members.  There must be some who stood out for you and who could be nominated for the Hubert Backes Rider of the Year, Volunteer of the Year and/or Most Improved Rider. Help single out those members who have made an impression this riding season.  At the voting site, you will find more information, including a description of the qualities nominees should exhibit for each award category.

Nominations must be submitted by Friday, December 20. After that, the site will be turned off.
