We have a NEW option for TAB Windsday ride starting this week.  The Fast and Furious and the Reasonably Fast will still go out as advertised. The Reasonable and Reliable will now be a combined R&R and GLR group. We are looking for riders that would like to ride anywhere from 14 to 17 mph. This group will stay together and is a NO DROP ride. This group will ride a modified course for 20.6 miles. If you’re still on the fence about giving this group a try, contact me for more details. We would love to see you come out and give it a try.

    Speedtrap Ride Tuesday June 15th

The Speedtrap Ride, the best Tuesday night ride out of Ottawa County, will again take place tomorrow, Tuesday, June 15th, leaving Spoke Life Cycles in Elmore at 6:30 pm.

Scott Lang will lead the Ghost Pepper Riders at what is expected to be a 22 – 23 mph average. Are you up to the challenge!

Bob Kayden is away and a substitute ride leader will be needed for the Cayenne Pepper Riders. That group will likely average 21+/- mph.

Doug Kilpatrick will lead the Habanero Riders likely at a 20+ mph average.

I am supposed to be leading the Jalapeno Riders, but Todd Pollock may have to do it again. Last weeks average was 18.5 mph. That group keeps getting faster!

Anyone who would like to ride at a casual pace will be a part of the Sweet Pepper Riders group.

The temperature is predicted to be in the low to mid 70s at ride time with a NNE wind of 12 mph. This will make a slight headwind for much of the return trip to Elmore. However, there is no chance of rain.

Some riders may gather for music, drink, and good conversation after the ride. Come on out to Elmore and enjoy the fun! Sign-in will begin at 6:00 in front of the bike shop. I hope to see you then!

Speedtrap Ride Tuesday, June 8th recap

The Speedtrap Ride drew twenty-six riders to Elmore last night. Although it appeared earlier that there would be a threat of rain, the weather was fine by ride time. There was a slight headwind for the first third of the ride, but that made a nice tailwind for the return trip to Elmore.

Scott Lang led the Ghost Pepper Riders and reported a 22.9 mph average speed.

Bob Kayden and his Cayenne Pepper Riders rode at a 22 mph average.

Doug Kilpatrick led the Habanero Riders with a 20.6 mph average.

Todd Pollock led the Jalapenos and reported a riding average of 18.5 mph.

Claude Watkins and I formed the Sweet Pepper Riders and we rode an average of 14.5 mph

After the ride, several riders gathered in front of the bike shop to celebrate Scott Lang’s birthday. Scott is pictured in the kitten jersey, a Flatlanders tradition, and with his birthday cake made by Jennifer Marquardt.  Happy Birthday, Scott! Hopefully there are many more triathlons, mountain bike events, and Speedtrap Rides in your future!

Also pictured is Bryan Rose, new to the Speedtrap Ride this week! Welcome Bryan!

Please join us next Tuesday, June 15th,  for the next chapter of the Speedtrap Ride. Sign-in will begin at 6:00 in front of Spoke Life Cycles Elmore, and we roll out at 6:30 pm. I hope to see you then.

The Speedtrap Ride, one of America’s great Tuesday night rides, will once again leave Spoke Life Cycles in Elmore tomorrow, June 8th, at 6:30 pm.

Doug Kilpatrick will lead the Habanero Riders and expects to average 20 mph

Todd Pollock or I will lead the Jalapeno Riders at what should be 15 – 17 mph, but last week the group averaged over 17.

Those who want to ride at a casual pace will form the Sweet Pepper Riders.

At ride time, the temperature is predicted to be in the lower 80s with a SW wind 6 – 8 mph. However, there is a 50% chance of scattered thunderstorms for a brief period, but that’s also a 50% chance of no thunderstorms.

After the ride, some riders may gather for music, drink, and good conversation.

So come on out to Elmore for the Speedtrap Ride! You’ll ride some quiet country roads and meet some great people, too! Sign-in begins at 6:00 pm.

I hope to see you then.
