Don't miss out on the Winter Warrior 2023/2024 rides sponsored by Spoke Life Cycles. The season begins in November and runs through March. And WOW! Riders who participate in enough rides will be entered into a drawing for the grand prize: Salsa (Mukluk) Heyday fat tire bike from Spoke Life Cycles. Here's the schedule for the rides and the official rules for the drawing. Rides start at 9am, unless otherwise noted.

The Meanderer's final ride of the 2023 season will roll out of Whitehouse this Saturday, October 28th at 9a for a 37mile loop up towards Fossil & Secor Park before our return to the South (hopefully with an amazing tailwind). Our pace adjusts for the group that assembles, but you can expect an average over the whole loop 13-15mph. There was/is some rain in the forecast the last time I checked, so please check back here for any ride cancellation. Rain or shine we thought we would meet up at Local Thyme at ~11:30a to close and reminisce this years cycling season. We hope you'll come out to join us for the ride & group lunch or even just the lunch this weekend!

This Saturday 10/21 is Hubert's Birthday Ride and The Meanderer's will be joining the celebration ride for their 8:30a start out of Whitehouse. Hubert J Backes turns 86 this year and you never know when he will say 'that's it', any Birthday Ride could be the last one he wants to do. Don't miss your chance to ride with the legend himself. Any Meanderer will have the choice of joining the main group for the full 86-mile loop or split off with me at Providence for something a bit shorter (around 40ish miles). We hope you'll come out to wish Hubert a happy birthday and join us for the 2nd to last ride of the season!!

Speedtrap Ride Tuesday October 10^th

          The Speedtrap Ride will have one more unofficial ride tomorrow, Tuesday, October 10^th, leaving from Spoke Life Cycles in Elmore, Ohio.

          The weather forecast calls for a temperature of 57 degrees, cloudy skies, a west wind of 12 mph, and no chance of rain. Sunset is at 7:00.

          Slower riders should leave by 5:30, Faster riders, and those not afraid of the dark, should leave by 6:00.

          As with any unofficial ride, regular ride leaders are not required to be present. Groups will be formed and leaders chosen from those who show up to ride. Riders may choose their own start times.

          This will be your last chance for the Speedtrap Ride until Spring of 2024. There will be no sign-in. Just get on your bike and ride. Perhaps I’ll see you there.

TAB Board Meeting Rescheduled October 12th

The TAB Board of Directors Meeting has been rescheduled for Thursday, October 12th, at 6:30 pm at the Walbridge Park Shelter House. The Walbridge Park Shelter House is on Broadway in south Toledo near the Toledo Zoo. All TAB members are invited to come and voice concerns and participate in the discussions. Apologies everyone for such late notice…

The TAB Executive Board meeting scheduled for tonight at 18:30 at the Way Public Library in Perrysburg has been postponed till next week. We will post a new date and time when it becomes available.

This week's Spicy Adventure Ride will meet at 9:00 at Keener Park. We’ll head through the wooded areas north Airport Highway over to our rest stop in Swanton. From there we’ll ride homeward through the Maumee State Forest back to Keener. Ride temps start in the high 40’s rising to the low to mid 50s with WNW winds blowing in the 9-13 mph range. Warm kit and strong legs are the order of the day. Dan Riley will be handling the leader duties this weekend. As usual, look for rolling speeds of 18-22, depending on group and conditions. And did I mention that start time is 9:00? See you there!

The Meanderer's roll at 9a this Saturday, October 7th out of Sidecut Metropark (parking lot by the sledding hill) for a 38-mile southern metroparks tour. We will visit/pass through Sidecut, Oak Openings, Providence, and Farnsworth metroparks. Bring hydration and a snack for our mid-ride beak that we will enjoy at our favorite dam. Average pace for the route is targeted at 13-15mph, but we make adjustments as needed for the group that's making circles together. Only three more Meandering Rides for the 2023 season! We hope you'll come out and ride bikes with us!

Speedtrap Ride Tuesday October 3rd

The Speedtrap Ride, one of America's great Tuesday night rides, is still alive with an unofficial ride tomorrow, Tuesday, October 3rd, from Spoke Life Cycles in Elmore, Ohio. I recommend a ride time of 6:00 for the faster groups and 5:30 pm for the slower groups.

As with any unofficial ride, regular ride leaders are not required to be there. Groups will be formed and leaders will be chosen from those who come to ride. In addition, riders can choose their own time to ride.

For ride time the temperature is predicted to be in the low 80s, with sunny skies, no chance of rain, and an ESE wind of 6 mph.

There will be no -sign in. Just come, get on your bike, and ride
