will take place again tomorrow, Tuesday, June 29th, leaving Spoke Life Cycles in Elmore at 6:30 pm.

Scott Lang will once again lead the Ghost Pepper Riders over a 25-mile course, and expects to average 22 – 23+ mph. Are you ready for it?!

Bob Kayden will lead the Cayenne Pepper Riders over the same course, at a slightly slower pace, 21 – 22” mph.

Doug Kilpatrick will lead the Habanero Riders at what will likely be 20+ mph.

Todd Pollock should be back for the Jalapeno Riders, with a riding average anywhere from 16.5 to 18.5 mph.

I will take out anyone who would like to ride at a casual pace and form the Sweet Pepper Riders.

Weather predictions are as follows: a SW wind of 3 mph, temperature in the upper 80s, and about a 40% chance of scattered thunderstorms at ride time diminishing to about 20% by ride’s end.

After the ride, some may gather in front of the bike shop for music, drink, and good conversation.

The Speedtrap Ride is a joint venture of TAB and the Flatlanders.   If you come out you may meet and ride with some great people you don’t ordinarily ride with, and you’ll be riding on very lightly traveled country roads. Why not give the Speedtrap Ride a try?  You’ll be glad you did. Sign-in begins at 6:00 in front of the bike shop. I hope to see you then!

Next Tuesday, July 6th, we ride the Speedtrap Route in reverse.

Speedtrap Ride Tuesday June 22nd recap

Favorable weather brought thirty-seven cyclists to Elmore last night for the Speedtrap Ride. There was a slight headwind for the first leg of the ride, but that made for a nice tailwind for the remainder of the ride returning to Elmore.

Bob Kayden reported ten Cayenne Pepper Riders who rode at an average speed of 22.2 mph.

The Jalapeno Riders were led by Alan Frishman. Ron Purk from that group reported a 17.6 mph average.

Joyce Purk, Claude Watkins and I formed the Sweet Pepper Riders. My Garmin indicated 13.8 mph for an average speed.

New to the Speedtrap Ride this week were Aaron Clapp(son of Randy Clapp), and Keith Faxel with Patti McMullen. All are pictured. Welcome to the Speedtrap Ride!

Several riders remained in front of the bike shop after the ride to enjoy music, drink, good conversation, and Doug Metzger’s birthday cake, made by Kathy Metzger. Doug is pictured! Happy Birthday Doug!

Next weekend, June 26th and 27th, MS Bike to the Bay will take place. In past years TAB has supported this event, and this year is no exception. Many TAB members are already registered for this event and many have already raised a considerable amount of money. It's all for a good cause.

Well we played frogger with the rain on Monday only to ultimately loose and end up wet.

Group 1 - Made it to 5-2 and B and decided to turn back thinking we were good to stay dry...  Just before 295 coming into Whitehouse the Thunder and lightning started as well as the rain, ice cold rain.  We got luck in that we made it back before the rain really started and the wind kicked in...

    Good ride - 21ish miles with a 20mph average

    Group 2 - Got soaked...

    See you next Monday!

We have a NEW option for TAB Windsday ride starting this week.  The Fast and Furious and the Reasonably Fast will still go out as advertised. The Reasonable and Reliable will now be a combined R&R and GLR group. We are looking for riders that would like to ride anywhere from 14 to 17 mph. This group will stay together and is a NO DROP ride. This group will ride a modified course for 20.6 miles. If you’re still on the fence about giving this group a try, contact me for more details. We would love to see you come out and give it a try.

    Speedtrap Ride Tuesday June 15th

The Speedtrap Ride, the best Tuesday night ride out of Ottawa County, will again take place tomorrow, Tuesday, June 15th, leaving Spoke Life Cycles in Elmore at 6:30 pm.

Scott Lang will lead the Ghost Pepper Riders at what is expected to be a 22 – 23 mph average. Are you up to the challenge!

Bob Kayden is away and a substitute ride leader will be needed for the Cayenne Pepper Riders. That group will likely average 21+/- mph.

Doug Kilpatrick will lead the Habanero Riders likely at a 20+ mph average.

I am supposed to be leading the Jalapeno Riders, but Todd Pollock may have to do it again. Last weeks average was 18.5 mph. That group keeps getting faster!

Anyone who would like to ride at a casual pace will be a part of the Sweet Pepper Riders group.

The temperature is predicted to be in the low to mid 70s at ride time with a NNE wind of 12 mph. This will make a slight headwind for much of the return trip to Elmore. However, there is no chance of rain.

Some riders may gather for music, drink, and good conversation after the ride. Come on out to Elmore and enjoy the fun! Sign-in will begin at 6:00 in front of the bike shop. I hope to see you then!
