Is your chain clean and lubricated? Are your tires inflated? Don't wait until mile 10 of 26 to find out something is not right.

I'll see everyone at Side Cut.

    Speedtrap Ride Tuesday May 2nd

The Speedtrap Ride, one of America’s great Tuesday night rides, will have its official first ride of the season tomorrow, Tuesday, May 2nd, leaving Spoke Life Cycles in Elmore, Ohio, at 6:30 pm.  Weather predictions. however,  do not appear to be favorable for this ride: a temperature in the low 40s, a 20 mph WNW wind, and a 45% chance of showers.

The regular groups from last year are scheduled to return:

Scott Lang’s Ghost Pepper Riders, averaging 22+/- mph.

Bob Kayden’s Cayenne Pepper Riders, averaging 21 +/- mph.

Doug Kilpatrick’s Habanero Riders, averaging 19 -20+ mph.

    Todd Pollock’s Jalapeno Riders, averaging 16 – 19 mph.

I plan to lead the Sweet Pepper Riders, but at this point I do not plan to be in Elmore for the Speedtrap Ride until May 23rd.

If turnout is low because of poor weather, groups may be combined and leaders may be changed.

Sign-in will take place inside Spoke Life Cycles Elmore, or out on the table in front of the bike shop.

The TAB Monday night ride for May 1st is canceled

  • 05/01/2023 10:45 AM | Rick Metcalf

Do you enjoy the comradity that comes with having breakfast with your fellow cyclists? Is the pace of the Adventure Ride a bit more than you prefer? The pace of the Meandering Ride a bit less than you would like? You have been heard, introducing a third Saturday Ride option, the Traditional TAB Breakfast Ride. This Ride will have an 18 mph speed limit (except for strong tailwinds and downhills). Expect cruising speeds between 16.5 & 17.5. Distances will generally be 40 to 45 miles. Launching this Saturday, May 6 at 8:00 from Whitehouse. We will be riding to Liberty Cafe in Liberty Center. We are looking for at least one more Ride leader to join Charles Nicewonder & myself.

TAB Monday Night Ride starts Tomorrow!! There are a few changes for the ride, first, we are starting from Farnsworth Metroparks in Waterville at 6:30. We are parking at the Indianola parking lot (address in 8505 South River Rd. between Roche De Bluff and the boat launch). Second, for anyone interested, we plan on enjoying some social time after the ride at Shawn's Tavern in Waterville. So bring a change of clothes and hang out. The route is 25 miles and we will have at least 2 or 3 groups and this is a NO drop ride. Group 1 will roll between 19 and 21 MPH, Group 2 will roll between 17 and 19 MPH, and Group 3 will roll between 15 and 17 mph. Someone will ride with you, so there is no excuse to not come enjoy the beautiful route.

There will be one more unofficial Speedtrap ride tomorrow, Tuesday, April 25th.

Riders will depart Spoke Life Cycles in Elmore, Ohio, at 6:30 pm.

As with any unofficial ride, riding groups will be formed and leaders will be chosen from those who show up to ride. Regular ride leaders are not required to be present.
