TOSRV

There are many rides, but only one is Americas bicycle touring classic; TOSRV. The Tour of the Scioto River Valley began as a father-and-son outing 1962 before quickly growing into (at one time) the nations largest bicycle touring weekend.

Typically, about 1500 cyclists participate in the annual May weekend tour, covering approximately 200 miles during the weekend (100 miles Saturday and 100 miles Sunday). The tour will leave from Canal Winchester on Saturday morning. There will be plenty of paved, secure, weekend parking next to and around this location.

Since the TOSRV route runs along the Scioto River valley, it avoids the large hills of southern Ohio.

Riders have many options for the amount of miles they want to ride. Registration options for the ride are available here.

TOSRV is organized by Columbus Outdoor Pursuits (COP), an organization with a full range of non-competitive outdoor activities. The tour has become known as Americas Bicycle Touring Classic.

New in 2019, riders can opt to ride from south to north for many options. Thanks to Portsmouth Connex for making these options a reality!

Also new in 2019, Saturday riders can ride a Quarter TOSRV, 25 miles to the first food stop and 25 miles returning to either Canal Winchester or Portsmouth. The half TOSRV takes riders approximately 50 miles, through two foods stops, and back again. Canal Winchester will be hosting their annual Art Stroll and Festivities. The party in Portsmouth will take place in Tracy Park. Both festivities will include live music, food trucks, and fun!

And the biggest new addition to TOSRV is a gravel ride in the Shawnee State Forest in Portsmouth. Details are still coming together for this fantastic addition to TOSRV. Sarah Swallow, a native to Ohio and nationally known adventure cyclist will be designing the route, along with the Southern Ohio Mountain Biking Association (SOMBA), who is also hosting the gravel ride option.
