  • My ride on the new Lake Norman, NC bike routes and a quick visit to a museum housing the world’s largest mountain bike collection
  • GM’s ad campaign to “Stop pedaling ... start driving” hits a few potholes
  • Roundup of national news and some interesting new products
  • A short listing of rides (just one!) plus our Tuesday night ride and Saturday winter ride information as well as our board meeting minutes and letter from your club president, Rick Rump.

Special thanks to contributors Linda Posadny, Rick Metcalf, Rick Rump, Debbie Tassie, Mike Troxell and Nancy Beeman.

I hope you will enjoy this issue of the newsletter!   The next full issue of The Seatpost will be out at the end of February with a deadline of February  22.  As always, I'm looking for your help in selecting topics, contributing articles and photos, and keeping our newsletter interesting for our club membership.

We are forming a committee to work on the newsletter next year.  Here’s a few ideas on how the work can be divided among several people:

Calendar and Listing of Events - Review previous year’s newsletter, Ohio-Michigan-Indiana annual bicycle calendars as well as local club information on weekly rides to compile the listing of events and create the monthly calendar.

Local and Club News - Collect the president’s letter, board meeting notes and solicit contributions from other members on rides, accomplishments, member profiles and so on.

Regular Column - Write a regular columns on topic of your choice such as training, nutrition, maintenance ...

Please contact me if you would like to volunteer.  I promise it will be a fun experience that you will enjoy!
