TAB members have been very busy this spring.

Some of the highlights:
Hugh Benning talked with Metropolitan Toledo law enforcement agencies regarding bike safety. TAB has been invited to have a representative on their regional safety council. Our new brochure and yard signs promoting 3' between bikes and cars are available and being distributed.

AND – the three-foot law has now passed the Ohio house and is moving on to a senate committee.

The Memorial Day ride to benefit injured veterans drew some 100+ riders. More than $2,000 was collected and donated to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. Thanks to all for their generosity. Thanks to Hugh and Connie Benning for organizing the event, and to all who volunteered.

Many volunteers took the time for various programs and events in April and May: Hubert Backes and Ron Toneff worked with cyclists who wanted to learn basic maintenance and tire changing. Brian Gribble instructed riders in group riding techniques. Linda Posadny organized two clinics for Bike to the Bay riders. TAB members spent a day at the Metroparks Outdoor Expo talking with cyclists about biking. Mark Armstrong rallied the Wheelmen to assist with the Maumee Bike Rodeo. And Keith Webb organized Toledo’s Ride of Silence.

All of these events involved many TAB members. If you love cycling, and want to share your passion with others, please check the TAB calendar and volunteer your time. Events are always listed with a contact person.

The next event will be the Freedom Ride on July 4 at Oak Openings Park. We will accept donations for a scholarship fund for Evelyn Billings, Matt’s baby daughter.

Let’s look for many nice days during the month of June to enjoy bike riding.
